Peugeot has confirmed its plans to enter the Indian market. Premier made another push at positioning itself as a dominant player in the SUV segment with the launch of three new variants of the RiO compact SUV. The new RiOs styling is a lot more palatable and it also packs in three new engine options. The company is going aggressive with its sales plans and intends to double its number of dealerships by the end of 2012. But will that be a good enough bait to lure buyers remains to be seen.

Mahindra finally lifted the wraps off the Reva NXR electric car. The two-door four-seater car has undergone a style makeover that makes it more appealing to the masses. But the car which now wears a Mahindra badge will have to do a lot more than just look good. Pricing and vehicle range will be crucial factors to generate volumes. Mahindra has taken a good first step and the Reva NXR has surely set a precedent for future electric cars in India.

Following the success of the Rhino Rx SUV ICML is making a fresh push into the pickup and entry-level SUV segment. The company unveiled three new vehicles at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The vehicles comprise two pickups Windy and Oyster and a fully-loaded SUV called the Extreme. Launch dates have not been announced but expect the vehicles to roll out by 2012 end.

Mercedes Benz unveiled their new M-Class SUV and showcased the SLS AMG Roadster alongside at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The new M-Class is bigger than the car it replaces and drives better aswell.
